Tomb RaiderChronicles has a Carbon version and should run fine natively inTiger. Inparticular this refers to Last Revelation, which only has the optionof OpenGL so can't use MacGLide - the advice I received is that youmay experience control lags that make the game difficult, or evenimpossible, to play! Tomb Raider III also has an OpenGL option, butthis can be played in 3Dfx Glide using MacGLide. I've had some feedback from an OS X Tiger user with an ATIgraphics chip which indicates that there may be problems playingthose classic TRs in Tiger Classic which use OpenGL directly. Playing in OS X Tiger Classic (added19 November 2006) If you run the original release TR 1-3, or TR4 Last Revelation, try to get the latest patches from Aspyr. This means the Trilogy versions of TR 1-3 if you can findthem, which have updates that were never released as patches for theoriginal release games.

The original release games may have different options,and may be more difficult to get running in Classic! I stronglyrecommend that you run the latest versions of the classic Mac TRs youcan get. The comments below for TR 1-3 all pertain to the Trilogy versionsof the games. You justhave to try using my tips and see what happens, and I can give noguarantees that you'll be successful!

I can confirm that my 2004 built MDD dual G4 Power Mac withan NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4600 128MB graphics card and OS X Panther10.3.9 runs all the classic Mac TRs well, one way or another.However, other setups may or may not show the same success. The results can differ between differentMacs with different graphics hardware (ATI or NVIDIA), and differentversions of OS X which have varying Classic graphics support viaOpenGL. Running a classic Mac full screen 3D game, particularly theearlier games, in OS X Classic mode, can exhibit problems due tographics incompatibilities. They will not run on an Intel Mac,which means that no new Mac computer can now run them! The Intelversion of OS X has no support for any classic Mac software, not justgames.

The classic Mac Tomb Raiders - TR 1 to TR 4 (Last Revelation) -will only run on a PowerPC Mac.
